About Greyrock Family Farm

WHO WE ARE

Welcome to Greyrock Farm in Cazenovia, NY! Located in the heart of New York State since 1905, Greyrock is a 4th generation family-owned and operated farm.

I’m the great-granddaughter of Carl E. Fisher, who in 1905 started a Holstein dairy on Greyrock, enhancing it with barns built with awe-inspiring craftsmanship. Greyrock Family Farm has been passed down through generations and now it’s my labor of love with my mother.

I never expected to farm, but the feeling left by the pending sale after my Aunt’s death drew me back. Leaving the West Coast, I returned to find new ways to make the farm productive and self-sustaining. I began with a small apiary of honey bees, expanding to chickens, Heritage turkeys, and cows, revitalizing the farm. These changes instantly brought life back to the farm.

We aim to share Greyrock’s beauty, history, and farming significance through farm stays, seasonal produce, ethically raised meats, and handmade yarn from our animals fibers. Progress has been significant over the past few years. In 2025, we will be celebrating 120 years for Greyrock Farm with a grand opening. Thanks for being part of our journey!

OUR PRACTICES

Greyrock Farm is 270 acres of pristine farmland and forest. Our natural spring, which once supplied the entire farm with water, is still actively running and watering our animals. Protecting this water source is a top priority at our farm.

Our prime, well-drained, limestone-based soil is our greatest asset which allows a wide variety of crops to thrive on our farm. Our soil health is extremely important to us.

Additionaly, our Greyrock Gold raw honey is respectfully harvested from our apiary. Our unique honey has citrusy notes which give it a clean, fresh taste. Our bees are never fed sugar water and are left with most of the honey they produce. This practice allows the bees the same health benefits that we expect from raw honey as consumers and I believe contributes to their overall health.
